Please meet 48th LD Senate Candidate Rodney Tom. Tom is running for his old state Senate seat in the Eastside’s 48th Legislative District, challenging incumbent Patty Kuderer, the sponsor of SB 6406, the bill to repeal Washington State Civil Rights Act (I-200).
Rodney Tom has been elected by 48th District voters four times since 2002. When he was planning to run for reelection in 2014, he had an 85% approval rating, which is almost unheard of in WA. Then his elderly father was struck by a car and severely injured. Tom ended his campaign to take care of his father. Rodney Tom is now asking 48th District voters to send him back to Olympia as their Senator.
Rodney Tom is fiscally conservative. Against the state income tax and against the idea of a state bank. Patty Kuderer, on the other hand, has voted for all spending bills, and is wanting a state bank.
Tom said education reform was the reason he first ran for office and remains his top priority.
Conrad Lee, Bellevue City Council thinks highly of Rodney Tom. Please come and meet Tom yourself, and get your questions answered.
